SUMMER CAMP

Our school is here to make sure your students make the most of their summer vacation! Not only do we offer fun-filled activities like sports and arts; and field trips such as Disneyland and Universal Studios; we also offer academic reinforcement during the long summer months. Students will engage in a rotation of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics! In addition, our English Language Learners (ELL) program focuses on improving students’ written and verbal grasp of the English language in a culture rich environment. Students thrive during camp because they are loved and cared for by our wonderful staff members, and given the opportunity to grow in confidence, socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively,  and to become lifelong learners.

SUMMER CAMP 1

Summer & Winter Classes

CLASSES

Southlands is offering a blended program on the campus of the University of British Columbia.  Students start with in-class instruction and labs in Biology and Audio/Video Production, and complete the courses online at their own pace. Homework, quizzes, and tests are also submitted digitally. Planned visits with Canada Parliamentarians and tours with at international companies and museums are part of students’ schedule. While producing film projects for their classes, students will enjoy world-class ski slopes and nature’s beauty. Upon completion of coursework, they will receive 15 credits toward Southlands core graduation requirements transferable to any Southlands school and many others.

Winter Camp

Due to the high demand for our Winter Camp, dates are open based on availability. Much like its counterpart, we are here to make sure that your students get the most out of their winter vacation! Students engage in U.S. site-based classes sharing their learning experience with local students. Winter camp follows a similar schedule to summer camp that include morning academics, afternoon activities and weekly trips to eduational and fun places.

Trips

Southlands program promotes frequent travel to build relationships and provide professional development to administrators, teachers, parents and students.   Throughout the years we have sent numerous administrators, faculty and their students abroad. Likewise, we’ve welcomed students and staff from partner programs in Asia to our main campus in Los Angeles. Visiting partner schools experience educational training and regional excursions ranging from classroom observations and guidance counseling by our staff and consultant from UC Berkeley admissions to touring and competitions.
