HIGH SCHOOL
ACADEMICS
Southlands Schools International provides a rigorous college preparatory instructional program for High School students. We offer a well-rounded learning environment where students can thrive academically, artistically and athletically. The academic program is comprised of 64 college preparatory/honors courses and over 20 Advanced Placement courses. These courses, along with college readiness testing in ACT Aspire, PSAT 8/9, PSAT NMSQT, & ACT testing help prepare students for college entrance and measure student success throughout their high school studies. In addition to this instructional program, SSI provides 1-to-1 academic and college counseling and a 4-year graduation plan that’s tailored to each student’s dream university and future career.
ATHLETICS
Athletics is another component of the program through participation in general physical education, athletic performance courses, and CIF varsity sports. With a variety of seasonal options, students can participate throughout the school year in Fall, Winter and Spring sports.
THE ARTS & LEADERSHIP
Additionally, Southlands focuses on the Visual & Performing Arts programs demonstrated through fine arts courses, artistic performances, exhibitions, festivals, publications, and competitions. Leadership qualities are also nurtured through character development and active participation in student-led groups. Healthy relationships are fostered through school social clubs, dances, class activities, community service events, and many other positive social experiences that the school provides.
Advanced Placement (AP) / DUAL CREDIT
Dual Credit - dual credit courses are offered so that students earn college credit while still in high school. College credits are granted through Hope International University. The focus areas for dual credit coursework are in Science & Technology, Arts & Media, and Global Leadership & Communications.
Science & Technology - designed to use science, technology, engineering, art, and math in an integrated approach to student learning
Arts & Media - offers students a higher level opportunity to explore and develop their creative voice in this technology-driven, visual culture.
Global Leadership & Communications - molds maturing youth into global citizens to lead and impact society through an array of humanities courses. This helps build 21st century communicative, innovative and problem-solving skills.
ONLINE EDUCATION
SSI has been serving the homeschool community (Kindergarten-High School) in and around the San Gabriel Valley since 1986, by offering access to facilities, extracurricular activities, and academic support. Beyond individual classes on campus, Southlands now also offers online and blended curriculum to students around the world to supplement the instruction they are receiving at school or at home.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
The Middle School program at Southlands is one that strives to educate the whole student. Our instructional curriculum includes literature, writing, science, social studies, math, physical education, and more. In addition to the core classes, students are able to choose from a variety of electives such as but not limited to video production, advanced computer technology, creative art, percussion/music, and journalism. Southlands Athletics program gives students several opportunities to represent their school well as part of the San Gabriel Valley Sports League. Boys and girls basketball, girls volleyball, boys flag football, and co-ed soccer are all sporting teams that carry the Southlands Eagles name. For those students with an interest in the arts, we offer an after school musical conservatory.

ELEMENTARY
The Elementary School instructional program at Southlands is designed to challenge students and instill within them academic skills, alongside a wealth of knowledge. Curriculum is designed to challenge and advance our students, ranking them in the top 6% of American elementary schools. Through teacher modelling, students cultivate the necessary life skills to take ownership of their academic careers. Creative problem-solving practices enable elementary students to properly research, evaluate and assess the world around them while working on the public speaking persona through Speech-Meet and other communicative experiences.
Our award-winning programs and well rounded education have placed students in the top-ranking position in various competitions such as the visual and performing arts, Science Fairs, Math Olympics, Technology fairs, Speech Meets and more.
PRESCHOOL
We believe that all children deserve to have a wealth of diverse experiences in order to grow and learn. A variety of engaging opportunities are provided so that confidence, creativity and character are developed in a loving atmosphere. Our preschool follows rigorous academics standards where curriculum is designed to focus on social/emotional development, intellectual development, and fine and gross motor skills.
